The Milwaukee Film Festival 2011 takes over local theaters Sept. 22 to Oct. 2. More than a dozen UWM students and alumni will screen their films during the 10-day festival, and their submissions are as follows:
“Are you Busy?”
Friday, Sept. 23, 9:45 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m.
Directed by Peck School of the Arts alumni Nick Sommer (BFA Film ’06) and Chris Thompson (BFA Film ‘06) and Milwaukee filmmaker Frankie Latina.
“Valley Maker”
Tuesday, Sept. 27, 7:15 p.m.
Directed by Peck School of the Arts alumnus and film lecturer Sean Kafer (BFA Film ’03, MFA Performing Arts ’10).”Valley Maker” is Kafer’s graduate thesis.
“Passing the Baton”
Wednesday, Sept. 28, 7:15 p.m.
Directed by doc|UWM instructor Ryan Sarnowski. Produced by doc|UWM instructor Jenny Plevin (BFA Film ’98).

- “Please Remember Me,” by Lisa Danker. “Please Remember Me” is Danker’s graduate thesis.
- “Secrets of Animal Navigation” by Daniel Boville (BFA Film ’11).
- “The Wheel” by BFA alumnus John Roberts
- “Missed Connections”, by Susan Kerns of the Department of English, and alumna Kara Mulrooney (BFA InterArts ’05).
