March 2, Inclusive Excellence 2012

All faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in a day of strategic planning, facilitated by Dr. Ceasar McDowell, Professor of the Practice of Community Development at the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning. Dr. McDowell’s presentation on Engage the Power will set the stage for a reflective discussion that will realign and reframe diversity and inclusion at UWM.

Please register for this event and submit your question(s) at mydevelopment.uwm.edu/longview.cfm?eventid=44986. These questions will guide the discussions throughout the day. To prepare for the event, questions will be accepted through February 24, 2012. Submission of questions is not required for registration.

A tentative schedule of the strategic planning session is as follows:

  • 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast & Registration
  • 9:00 a.m. Welcome
  • 9:30 a.m. Engage the Power Presentation
  • 10:30 a.m. Small Group Work Session
  • 12:00 noon Lunch & Engage the Power Global Perspective
  • 1:00 p.m. Small Group Work Session & Report Out (ends at 3 p.m.)

This event is followed by the First Friday Reception, honoring Ed Burgess and welcoming the 2012 Diversity Fellows. The reception is hosted by the Peck School of the Arts from 4-6 p.m. at the PSOA Mainstage Rotunda.
