The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s Yolanda Marculescu Vocal Arts Series presents “An Evening in the Harlem Renaissance” with Adrienne Danrich, soprano, on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Peck School of the Arts Recital Hall, 2400 E. Kenwood Blvd.
The concert also features Djordje Nesic, pianist. “An Evening in the Harlem Renaissance” includes songs and duets by William Grant Still, Margaret Bonds, Drew Hemenger, Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, George Gershwin and others. The voice of Danrich has been described as “fresh liquid-silver” and “meltingly tender in its high floating vulnerability” by Opera News.
