Reitman to discuss Bob Dylan Oct. 2

Robert (Bob) Reitman II and Robert (Bobby) Reitman III

MILWAUKEE – Radio celebrity Bob Reitman will visit the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Tuesday, Oct. 2, for a conversation about Bob Dylan and his music. Reitman’s presentation, “My Reasonable Obsession with Bob Dylan,” will take place at UWM’s Hefter Center, 3271 North Lake Dr., at 7 p.m.  The event, which is sponsored by the English Department, is free and open to the public though seating is limited.

Reitman started his radio career at WUWM in 1966 with a poetry program, “Sense Waves,” and, later, a music program, “It’s Alright Ma: It’s Only Music.” He went on to become a successful commercial disc jockey and spent the next 40 years at several Milwaukee-area stations, including WZMF, WAWA, WTOS, WQFM, and WKTI.

Reitman returned to WUWM in 2007 and revived his original music show, where he is able to continue to share his deep knowledge and love of Bob Dylan’s music. In addition to his vast radio experience, Reitman holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Marquette University and a master’s degree in Urban Education from the UWM School of Education.
