Panthers pitch in to promote breast cancer awareness

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Department of Athletics again is pitching in to promote breast cancer awareness, celebrate cancer survivors and support the progress towards a cure.

Milwaukee Pink Out is spearheaded by UWM’s women’s soccer, volleyball and swimming and diving teams.

Pink Out includes the women’s volleyball match vs. Valparaiso Saturday, Oct. 13, at

4 p.m. at the Klotsche Center; women’s soccer match against Oklahoma State University on Sunday, Oct. 21, at noon at Engelmann Stadium; and the women’s and men’s swimming and diving meet vs. Wright State Friday, Oct. 26, at 5 p.m. at the Klotsche Center Natatorium.

Anyone who wears pink will be admitted for just $1 and students are admitted free.

Funds raised benefit women’s health care at UWM’s Norris Health Center. Free t-shirts will be given away to fans in attendance (donations accepted) compliments of the UWM Student Association. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and the women’s soccer team will auction off their special pink jerseys following their match. The jerseys are sponsored by Via on Downer.
