Every year, at the research symposium graduate and undergraduate student researchers at the UWM Department of Biological Sciences gather to present their recent work and achievements. Everybody with an interest in biology is invited to attend the symposium and learn what the young UWM scientists are up to.

The areas of research at the department are diverse and exciting, ranging from Cell and Molecular Biology, Ecology, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Physiology, and believe it or not, some of us are actually good at math: Biomathematics. The presentations can be in one of two forms: short talks or posters.

The Symposium is organized and sponsored by the Graduate Organization of Biological Sciences.

When is the Symposium?
The symposium will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Research talks will be given from 9 am to 12 noon (these times may change depending on the number of presenters). Posters will be available for viewing from 9 am to 1 pm. The official poster session will take place from 11 am to 1 pm. The Department of Biological Sciences is hosting the annual awards ceremony and refreshments at 1 pm in the Zelazo Center, room 250.

Where is the Symposium?
The talks and the poster session will be held in the UWM Student Union Ballroom and adjoining rooms. The awards ceremony will take place in the Zelazo Center, room 250. Who is sponsoring the Symposium?
The symposium is being sponsored by the Graduate Organization of Biological Sciences (GOBS) at UWM in conjunction with the Department of Biological Sciences.

Who can Attend?
All UWM students and faculty are invited to attend all or part of the symposium.
