MILWAUKEE – Will Allen, founder and CEO of Growing Power, is scheduled to speak on “Farm to Fork: The Good Food Revolution” on Wednesday, May 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Golda Meir Library, 2311 E. Hartford Ave. The event, which is free and open to the public, is in the FourthFloor Conference Center.
In 2010, Time Magazine named Allen one of the 100 most influential people in the world for his work in transforming the cultivation, production and delivery of healthy foods to underserved populations. Allen, who also received a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2008, published a book in 2012, “The Good Food Revolution: Growing Healthy Food, People and Communities.”
Also scheduled to speak at the event are UWM Chancellor Michael Lovell, Gretchen Mead of the Victory Garden Initiative and Stan Stojkovic, dean of UWM’s Helen Bader School of Social Welfare and chair of the Institute for Urban Agriculture and Nutrition.
