UWM Walks Initiative

The “UWM Walks” initiative is meant to support UWM community members towards their health, wellness and disease prevention goals as well as the goal of participating and completing the Panther Prowl.

AND you don’t have to go it alone!  Join the Kinesiology department for walking groups that will give you support and help you stay on track from starting a walking program to finishing the Panther Prowl.  Each week the groups will be joined by an “expert” sharing their knowledge in topics such as nutrition, shoes, stretching, and more.  The groups, split by experience level, will leave from the Golda Meir Library north bike racks located between the east and west entrances to the library at the times listed below.  There will be “Novice” and “Experienced” walking groups as well as a beginning running/jogging group.

Please email uwm-walks@uwm.edu to notify us of which group you’d like to be a part of as well as with your questions, requests for programs or for other helpful information.

Groups will meet on M/W at 12:15 and 4:30 starting September 4th through October 9th.

Come to the group that fits best in to your schedule. Walking times vary.
