As part of National Depression Screening Day on Thursday, Oct. 10, free depression screenings will be offered in the UWM Student Union. The screenings are sponsored by Norris Health Center.
Those feeling sad, angry, anxious or stressed are encouraged to schedule a screening. Screenings are anonymous and include a confidential interview with a mental health specialist to discuss the results, a list of local resources where treatment is available, and educational resources for participants to take home.
Participants can sign up for a screening on Oct. 10, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the information table on the main floor of the Student Union, or by going directly to Union rooms 143 or 147, where the screenings will be held. Mental health counselors from Norris Health Center also will be available at the information table to answer questions.
