Men’s Basketball back at the Cell Tonight!

The Panther men’s basketball team officially returns to the U.S. Cellular Arena Tuesday night when Big East foe DePaul comes to town.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. and all fans in attendance will receive a Panther t-shirt courtesy of Gruber Law Offices, LLC.

The Panthers come into the game riding a four-game winning streak after winning the Northern Illinois Invitational this weekend. Milwaukee won three times in thee games, beating San Jose State Friday, James Madison Saturday and the host Huskies Sunday.

In fact, Milwaukee finished the weekend with double-digit wins in its final two games. Sunday against NIU, the Panthers overcame a 21-7 deficit and extensive foul trouble to outscore the Huskies, 75-48, over the final 29 minutes of the game.

Matt Tiby and Jordan Aaron each earned spots on the all-tournament team at NIU, and the tourney title was Milwaukee’s first since the 2002-03 season. Plus, Steve McWhorter claimed Horizon League Co-Player of the Week recognition.

Now, the Panthers try to bring their winning ways home, as Tuesday marks UWM’s official regular season return to the U.S. Cellular Arena after a one-year absence.

Milwaukee enters play Tuesday with five players averaging in double figures. Tiby tops the charts with 14.6 points, and he adds 8.8 rebounds per contest. The Panthers have already had seven different players collect at least one double-figure scoring outing.

Meanwhile, DePaul enters Tuesday’s contest at 2-1 and is coming off an 81-72 home win over Wright State.

Tickets for Tuesday’s game are available at all Milwaukee-area Ticketmaster outlets or at the U.S. Cellular Arena Box Office prior to tipoff. As always, UWM students are admitted free with a valid ID.
