City of Milwaukee Begins Construction on Hartford Ave.

CITY OF MILWAUKEE
Hartford Avenue Construction Zone
Beginning March 27th, 2014

All,

UWM Campus Planning and Facility Services Departments were notified late yesterday, March 25, that City of Milwaukee Infrastructure Services Division would be completing sewer system improvements along Hartford Avenue during the week of March 3t.

To our surprise, the construction project began this afternoon, March 26th.  To our knowledge thus far, the project is to take about 2 weeks, and no parking lot entrances are scheduled to be blocked.  Traffic on Hartford Avenue will be disrupted, as expected.

We are awaiting more information regarding the duration of the project, lane closure details, and future phases of this much needed project.  As soon as we receive additional details from the City, and/or Construction Manager, we will pass them along to the campus.

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience, and ask that you make an effort to travel Hartford Avenue cautiously to keep our students, staff, and faculty safe during this construction.

Sincerely,
