Apr. 25-26, CIE Annual Conference: After Capitalism

2014-Conference-Web-BannerThis year’s CIE conference, “After Capitalism,” takes place on April 25 and 26, and will feature international scholars from a range of disciplines who will examine capitalism’s history, theories, and its twenty-first century parameters, transformations, and potential end. The conference is free and open to the public, and will be held at the Hefter Conference Center, 3271 N. Lake Drive. Visit the website – aftercapitalism.uwm.edu – for the complete conference program. Also, on the evening before the conference, April 24, the Institute of World Affairs is hosting the George F. Kennan Distinguished Lecture featuring political economist Mark Blyth at 7:00 pm, at the Hefter Conference Center. As a prelude to the conference, Blyth’s lecture will discuss his latest book, Austerity: the History of a Dangerous Idea (Oxford University Press: 2013).
