Campus lawns will be getting a luxurious, all-natural treat this week.
More than 350 cubic yards of compost will be applied to all 23 acres of lawn on UWM’s East Side campus starting today. This is the next step in the University’s transition to a natural, chemical-free lawn-care process. Aeration and overseeding have been completed, and now it’s time to throw down the brown compost, derived from local sources.
Composting should be complete by Friday, but we encourage pedestrians to keep off the grass until next week.
